The view from my studio
I'm a gardener. I started welding because I couldn't find large pieces for my personal garden. Smaller work that I could find, got lost in the expansiveness of outdoors.
Trellises were a first place to start, and the bright colors evolved so that the rod I welded could be seen amongst the plants, as well as give some garden interest to Michigan's snowy season.
Each work is primed, painted with 2-3 coats of color, and then clear coated -- whatever color paint is left in the can, is given to you for touch-ups. Optional to order with a natural rust patina. Recycled Steel Drum pieces are usually in whatever color the steel drum is when it arrives at the studio.
The more I work with steel rod, the more I enjoy the fluid, organic lines I can achieve. Hope you enjoy these in your garden as much as I enjoy making them for you.
